Day Ten

Day Ten, we spent the night in the Wigwam Hotel. It was really cute. They took the idea of the Cozy Cone Motel from this place on the original Route 66. Adam had a blast! He kept calling it "Sally's" We had a great night, and then headed off to Karen's in Phoenix, AZ for some R and R for New Year!

They even had old cars parked outside the rooms that looked like the cars from the movies. This is Adam posing with Sally, and holding his Sally car. He had to match every one up.


Adam was very excited about where we ate breakfast because it was filled with Cars memorabilia. He could barely sit and eat.

This restaurant is featured in the credits of the movie, and the owner said they worked hand in hand with the developers to get all the facts about Route 66 correct in the movie. It was pretty cool.

Once we left Holbrook, we headed down the road to Winslow, AZ. Mark had to stop because this town was in a song by the Eagles...

We actually went through more snow when we went through Flagstaff, AZ. Then we made a hard left and headed straight down to Phoenix.

A half hour after going through snow we saw cactus. By the time we got down to Phoenix the temperature was up to 70 degree. We couldn't believe how different the temperature was.
