Day Seven

We made it all the way from Oklahoma City, Ok to Amarillo, TX today. It was a beautiful, but chilly day today.

When we arrived at our campsite, one of the first things we saw were Jack Rabbits. We coudn't believe it! They are HUGE!

Can you find all five Jack Rabbits in the picture?

Adam loved the dog park just as much as the dogs...

Oscar and Adam tried out the see-saw...

Zoe was so happy to be out of the car...

Earlier in the day we stopped at the Bass Pro Shop in Oklahoma City...

Now that's a big bear!

We passed a lot of windmills in Oklahoma. They are really impressive!

Then we started on the Old Route 66 and saw some of the historic sites, like the Leaning Water Tower in Groom, TX. In the Cars movie, it's the Leaning Towers of Tires.

And the largest Cross in the Western Hemisphere. It stands 150ft, also in Groom, TX.

Once at our campground, we decided it was time to go out to dinner, so we ate at The Big Texan Steak Ranch. It was a lot of fun! It was a tourist trap, if I've ever seen one.

The Big Boot!

Adam LOVED his mac and cheese! He ate every last bite!

Mark got the legendary boot full of beer.

Adam even got a cowboy hat with his meal!

It was a great day!

  1. I love the little cowboy hat Adam got! Too cute! Tell our homestate of Texas that we miss it! Home sweet home!
