Easter in Phoenix, AZ

We decided to make the 9 hour drive to Phoenix for Easter this year. It was worth the drive to be with family. It's just not the same without a big celebration. It was a jam-packed weekend, but a lot of fun!

We drove through the night on Thursday and arrived in Phoenix around 5:30am Friday. After a relaxing day at Karen's (Mark's cousin) we met everyone at the Saddle Ranch for dinner.

Adam got to sit on the bull! He loved it!

We ate outside and got to watch the water show all through dinner.

After dinner, Rachel and Christine rode the bull...

Christine stayed on the whole time! It was pretty impressive.

The next morning we went to a Easter Party held at Rachel's college. It was a small get-to-together, but it was the perfect size for Adam. He had a blast. This is the Easter Bunny he made.

Now time for his first Easter Egg hunt of the weekend. We weren't able to have it outside because it was raining. He did really well.

He made it into the lounge first, and couldn't pick up all the eggs fast enough. He was running all over the place.

Daddy helped him get one that was really high up.

After a short nap, Adam helped us dye eggs.

After dying eggs we headed off to Christine and Dan's (Mark's cousins) for a surprise party for Christine. This is Adam practicing saying SURPRISE!...

Christine and Dan. She was so surprised!

Grandmom helped Adam roast some marshmallows at the party.

Adam has his jammies on and is ready for bed. The Easter Bunny is coming tonight!

HE CAME! This year, Adam got a couple of baskets. All of his Aunts wanted to give him something. It was very thoughtful. Thank you very much!

I think Adam was still sleepy as he came down the stairs. It took him a minute to get excited about finding the eggs.

But once he saw all the eggs that were hiding, he was ready!

He found his first Easter basket from Aunt Karen...

He was very excited about his gifts...

After we played with his Easter Bunny gifts, we headed off to the Lake where Grandmom and Grandpop were staying with Aunt Jo and Uncle Bill in their big RV.

It was beautiful there. I wish we had more time to hang out there. But we were on a tight schedule.

We took a nice walk around the whole campground.

We saw a little car that looked like Luigi on Cars so we had to get a picture.

Adam loved spending time with Grandmom

On our walk we stopped by the pool and Adam put his feet in. Maybe next time we will have time to go swimming.

Now it was time to get out of our play clothes and get ready for the Easter Party at Christine and Dan's.

Once at Christine and Dan's the Easter Bunny had left more stuff for Adam.

He couldn't believe it!

The Easter Bunny even hid eggs at their house. Uncle Bill and Aunt Bernie helped him find them. It was great to see everyone from the East coast. It really made Easter special.

Adam loved looking at what was inside them.

The family just relaxing...

Christine made a beautiful dinner, but unfortunately we weren't able to stay and eat it. We had to get back on the road for our 9 hour drive home.
Thanks to Karen and Rachel for letting us stay with them! We had a great time!
