The projects continue

On days when we are sick of working inside on the house, we move to the outside. On this day Adam and Riley were helping me move a pile of rocks from the backyard to the front yard. The previous owners must of had a dog run here.

Mark tore the counter tops out about two weeks ago and got it all ready for our new ones, only to find out that they went out of business and we have to wait another two weeks for a new company to put them in.

I'm trying to clean our old stove, so maybe someone will buy it.

Mark got our island off in one piece. It was really heavy!

Mark patched all the holes from the back splash we took out and it looks as good as new. He is really getting good at this home improvement stuff.

This is how nasty it was under our stove. Gross!

Now on to the floor! We decided to pull up the laminate floor in the hallway and kitchen and then build it back up the match the tile. It started out good and came up really easily, until we got to the kitchen.

Once we started pulling up the floor in the kitchen we found linoleum underneath covered with plastic. Since the floor couldn't breath under the plastic, it was filled with mold. It smelled SOOO bad. We are so happy we decided not to put our new floor on top, once we saw what was underneath.

Mark had to scrape all the moldy linoleum off the floor.

Look at all that MOLD!

This weekend we are going to be building up the kitchen to match the living room and then laying the new floor. Wish us luck!
