The Joys of Packing With a Baby

Adam got sick this past weekend, so I had to do most of the packing with him in his carrier or clinging to my legs crying. It wasn't very fun. We had a lot of friends who offered to watch him for us, but they all have kids of their own and I didn't want them to get this cold, it's a bad one! He doesn't have a fever, he's just really cranky, clingy, and the boogies are flowing. I'm sure all the chaos isn't helping either. The doctor said he is probably going to get worse before he gets better, once Mark leaves. He said changing his routine, his nuclear family, and what he knows to be normal could effect him. His sleeping, eating, naps, etc. could all change do to the stress. He also said moving in with family is best for him and me during this time.

For the next couple of days we are going to be staying in a hotel in Solomon's Island, relaxing and spending time as a family. We are trying to limit the chaos, and just enjoy the time we have together.

It takes a lot more energy to take down a crib with a 23 pound baby strapped to your stomach, but it's got to get done somehow. We are working on pure adrenaline.

Adam was helping me pack the pots and pans. I would put two in and he would pull one out. It took a lot longer but he was having fun. I think he thought he was helping.

These tissues were the best dollar I ever spent! Letting him play with the tissues gave me about twenty minutes of quiet to pack our bedroom. To him it was like magic, you pull one out and another appears. MAGIC!

Poor Baby! He doesn't even have a crib to nap in. This was his last nap before we left our house. With him sleeping I was able to clean around him before the inspector came. He was a trooper all day.
